Quick Start Guide<!-- -->
Plug the unit into a standard 13A socket and switch on the power supply. Press and hold the on/off button for 3 seconds until the display illuminates. Once switched on, you can either choose to use the automatic preheat function using the preheat button on the control panel or set your own preferred temperature using the plus & minus buttons on the control panel.
If using the preheat function, the Crossray eXtreme Electric BBQ will reach 250C roasting temperature in approximately 12-14 minutes. If a lower setpoint is used, this time will generally be shorter.
The display will alternate between 2 temperature readouts. When the text “SET” is visible, the temperature displayed is the setpoint. When the text “NOW” is visible, the temperature displayed is the roasting temperature under the hood. Note that the roasting temperature will drop when cooking with the hood open.
The temperature probe is located at the back centre of the cooking plate, and can be seen when the hood is open. The temperature reading is taken at the tip of the probe, and is the roasting temperature under the hood (not the grill plate temperature).
When the hood is open, the temperature reading will drop as heat escapes and the temperature around the probe reduces. The grill temperature will remain at cooking temperature.
While cooking, the temperature probe may be used to check the temperature of your food. To do so, plug the 3.5mm connector into the port on the bottom left of the control panel. Insert the probe carefully into the thickest part of the food you wish to check. The temperature will then be shown on the digital display.

Once the temperature is greater than 250C, place your pizza on the pizza stone and shut the hood. Your pizza will typically cook in approximately 5-7 minutes.
